obama-a-rama continues

Well, like many of us in DC, and perhaps across the country, I feel like I’m starting to come out of the Inaugural fog….a slap-happy glow that has fueled so many smiles and festivities all week. The house guests have left, I’ve cleaned, caught up on sleep and finally gotten to edit the photos I took the evening before Inauguration. Check out this glam mama and her sweet family. We did a combination of posed and playful shots before the parents went out on the town – certainly, a night to remember.

Obama-rama, gowns & babies

Well, living on Capitol Hill and running through the Capitol grounds a few times a week has certainly fueled the excitement in our house about the incoming President and upcoming festivities around the Inauguration.

My 4 y.o. who excitedly spoke of “O-back O-bama” last fall has now graduated to familiar conversation about Sasha and Malia, as if they are old pals. We talk of everything from the jersey barriers & porta potties that are filling familiar territory to walking in the cold and being a part of this amazing moment in history and in DC.

Although I opted out of working on Inauguration night I’ll be photographing a DC family Monday evening, with mama in a ball gown and papa in tux. There are twin babies and a 3 y.o. too. I’m so excited about the pictures I haven’t even taken yet that I thought I’d blog an anticipatory post! Stay tuned….

catching up

I thought I’d share some fun shots from December – another great session at home, where kids always seem more relaxed and at ease with their “stuff.” These were all shot in a small baby’s room with plenty of natural light.

And one of my faves from the morning:

A Happy New Year to all! It’s been a busy few weeks between holiday work and holiday family time so I’ve sorely neglected my blog. I’ll start off 2009 by sharing a fun pic that a client sent me: three years of pix that I took of her child collected on a friend’s fridge. He’s in the black and whites in the middle : )

Those annual photos do live on in the lives of others!
