happy spring!
Here in DC we have a gray, cool start to spring…but we all eagerly await the explosion of color that is to come. This morning my girls and I were excited by the mini daffodils in neighbors’ yards [note, other people's yards....I dream of gardening but so rarely find the time]. Soon it will be ideal weather and landscape for spring portraits – I am so ready after all the dark, chilly days of winter.
I’ve been getting more and more requests for senior portraits which I love doing. The inquiries reminded me that I hadn’t shared some faves from last fall and will do so below. What a joy to capture this amazing age and such a confident, elegant young woman too!

Happy Spring to all!
ooh, baby, baby!
If you know me or have read my blog then you know one of my favorite parts of my wonderful job is working with families over time. I was fortunate enough to do pregnancy portraits of this mama, then newborn portraits of these sweet twins and a few days ago did their 7 month session. We wanted to wait until at least one of the babies was sitting, not a prerequisite for 6-7 mo. portraits but it gives more options all around. You may recognize the portraits in the background ; )
I loved seeing how they decorated the nursery with images of pregnancy and the babies as one week olds too. For those of you wondering about how to frame and hang your portraits, this is a great example of mixing framed images, box mounted ones and a canvas gallery wrap.
The Wall
This week I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a family that I’ve worked with many times over the past five years – from pregnancy #1, through baby and toddler portraits to pregnancy #2 and those baby and toddler portraits. The mama has created what she affectionately calls The Wall in her home, which is an amazing collection of family portraits, old and new. I loved seeing my work there and thought I’d share these shots with you, since clients often ask for suggestions for framing and hanging photographs.
By the way, this family does appear on my website in a couple of spots – see if you can “Where’s Waldo” it from clues below on The Wall and find two portraits of this family in my portfolio sections:
