photos at home

Somehow it’s been awhile since I’ve photographed any bambinas at home. This session with a sweet 21 mo. old was a great reminder of how relaxing and fun sessions at home can be. It not only provides a warm spot for photos on a chilly day, but the familiar environment sets little ones at ease.

I was especially appreciative of the patient and flexible mama whose daughter refused to wear the planned red holiday dress! We just rolled with it – starting with bare baby pix inside then explored outside.

The poor girl was teething and wanted her pacie so we had some amazing expressions as she chewed on it then had it taken away!

more fall faves

Here are some more pix from recent sessions – everyone’s getting ready for holiday gifts and cards and thankfully, the weather’s been on our side. The fall colors have been amazing though the leaves also look pretty great in black and white.

I loved looking through these shots of the boys together – you can really sense their brotherhood – they’re in it together, right?

Like many of us, my family included, it’s rare to get good photos of all of us together, especially authentic and playful images. That was really the goal of this session – we had a great visit at the Arboretum and the golden afternoon light was on our side:

fall faves

Well, I thought I’d gotten the hang of blogging as part of the weekly juggle, but clearly not! Between many, many portrait sessions, creating albums, ordering holiday cards, taking care of my kids, healthy and sick, then getting sick myself, somehow posting pix has fallen through the cracks. Here are a bunch of faves from the past few weeks. Enjoy!

Many thanks to my clients for taking me to so many fab locations. More on that to come….

A lovely family at Montrose Park – check out their great colors:

Back on the Hill…these guys just moved back to DC so we took pix near their new home. It’s the 4th year in a row we’ve worked together – so sweet to see that baby as a big sister now. Some shots are fun and free and the last is sure to be a grandparent-pleaser:

new cards for the holidays

After years of searching for classy, high quality and well-designed photo cards for my clients I’ve found a fabulous source. It’s one you may be familiar with – I know some of the nicest cards we received last holiday season were from them.

I’ve just partnered with tinyprints to offer their cards to my clients. For a nominal fee, I will upload the image of your choice from your portrait session and handle all ordering, proofing, etc. This way you get both a fabulous professional image ; ) and a cool card! Please email me for details and have a look at their great selection via the web button below.

new albums

I’ve been so busy with fall portrait sessions that I haven’t had time to post new images lately. Thanks to my clients, I’ve explored some new gardens and also photographed at some of my favorite DC fall spots.

Yesterday I took pix of a one week old, who’s mama I’d photographed pregnant. I kid you not, my eyes welled up when I saw that amazing little babe. I promise to post some of those images soon.

For now I’m so excited to share some shots of the new album that I’m offering. It’s a gorgeous 15×11.5 inches, linen bound and printed on nice, heavy stock. Here are some images to give you an idea of the possibilities – these from an extended family session in Maine in June.

Enjoy!
