We had a wonderful day at Dawn Price Baby in Georgetown photographing babies from 2 1/2 month old twins to a 9 month old with a four year old big sister. What a gorgeous group of babies we had. Thanks to all of the lovely mamas and papas who got down on the ground next to me to help elicit smiles – it worked!

I’m so excited to continue our partnership with Dawn Price Baby for MiniSessions again this spring! We have only a couple of openings left for babies 12 months and younger this coming Sunday, April 10th at the Georgetown store. If you’re interested please send an email to minisessions@photopiadc.com asap. All participants receive a $25 print credit, a 10% off coupon for purchases that day at Dawn Price Baby and a $100 credit toward a family portrait session.

If your bambino is older than a year, fear not, we’ll have a first time MiniSessions event at the Dawn Price Baby store on Capitol Hill in May. This will be a great outdoor event and sure to fill up very quickly. Please email us to get on the list for early notification.

Here’s a fave from last year’s Minis – couldn’t you just eat him up!?

Here in DC we have a gray, cool start to spring…but we all eagerly await the explosion of color that is to come. This morning my girls and I were excited by the mini daffodils in neighbors’ yards [note, other people's yards....I dream of gardening but so rarely find the time]. Soon it will be ideal weather and landscape for spring portraits – I am so ready after all the dark, chilly days of winter.

I’ve been getting more and more requests for senior portraits which I love doing. The inquiries reminded me that I hadn’t shared some faves from last fall and will do so below. What a joy to capture this amazing age and such a confident, elegant young woman too!

The one year birthday is such a milestone especially for the parents. To go from caring for a teeny tiny newborn to a smiling, sitting and exploring the world little person all within 12 months is truly amazing.

Sweet Lily was an adorable 5 month old when I first photographed her at the MiniSessions at Dawn Price Baby in Georgetown. It was so fun to see her again and capture her at this amazing age with her gorgeous parents. Happy Birthday to all of you!

So, the kids at the Mini Sessions were simply gorgeous and the babies were downright amazing! I think I’m in love with all of them. The Mini Sessions are new for us and I couldn’t have made it through the eleven back to back sessions without all the help from Erika and Nekea at Dawn Price Baby and my amazing assistant, Allie. Thanks, crew!

This sweet boy was happiest in his mama’s lap. I mainly focused on him alone then couldn’t resist that momentary nuzzle:

This darling girl was completely at ease in front of the camera but when her shirt got messy we decided to take it all off…she was so friendly, knocking on the large windows in the back of the shop, waving at passersby while in the buff. Pure sweetness.

Look at those cheeks! This guy was so calm and taking everything in. His mama had just finished knitting his gorgeous sweater that morning – wow.

With such an amazing spring day, we were able to photograph a couple of families outside. These three sweet sibs came with their cousins – they took my breathe away when I saw them all arriving in their flowery finest!
