I love photographing at Brookside Gardens but I what I really love are these babies! I first photographed their mama pregnant, then the babes as one week olds, then as seven month olds and now as one year olds. It gives me such joy to watch them engage with each other and with the world. They were intrigued by all the simple wonders of nature: watching butterflies, picking up leaves and sticks and even putting stones in their mouths as they played. You remember what rocks taste like, right?

And last but not least, the beautiful couple! I try to photograph parents alone at each session – it’s so important to capture that relationship too. And these two, they are very dear to me as well.

I’ve been so busy photographing families that I haven’t had time to share many images lately. Here are some faves from a great session last month at Montrose Park in Georgetown. This little girl makes an appearance as a baby with amazing blue eyes on my website – does she look familiar here?
